Benchi F. Hudson is a native of South Carolina and a retired warden from the South Carolina Department of Corrections. Following her retirement, she worked as an executive director for a non-profit organization in Charleston.
​
She’s a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc and is a charter member and past president of the North Charleston Alumnae Chapter. She received a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and her graduate studies in Human Relations.
​
Benchi loves to read and write and has penned several short stories she plans to publish. Champagne and Truffles: For the Love of Tess is her debut publication.
​
She is a member of a book club with other avid readers, and they have become good friends. They look forward to getting together to talk about anything, including the book of the month.
​
Benchi is also active in her church and works with the Women’s Ministry, Sunday school, and is a ‘helpmate’ to her husband who serves as her pastor.
​
In addition to reading and writing, she loves to quilt; bake; and cook, creating her own recipes; and she loves Classic Country Music. Benchi resides with her husband. They love to travel, when time permits, and spend time with their grandchildren.
